Meet Coach Heesacker

Coach Jim Heesacker brings over 25 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for athletics. Growing up, he competed in soccer, baseball, football, and basketball before earning a three-year varsity football career in high school and continuing his playing career at Chadron State College in Nebraska as a Safety. Following college, he spent two seasons playing "semi-professional" football before transitioning into coaching.Over the past two and a half decades, Coach Heesacker has led successful youth and high school programs in flag football, tackle football, and lacrosse. Most recently, he guided the second year Issaquah Girls Flag Football program to a remarkable 16-1 record, played in the WIAA State Championship game, and defeated the previous two state champions five times in six meetings throughout the season. His accomplishments include multiple Coach of the Year nominations, the Seahawks Coach of the Game Award, and serving as a coach at the USA Girls Flag Football Talent ID Camp hosted by the Seahawks for the past two years.

Away from the sidelines, Coach Heesacker continues to pursue excellence as an athlete. He has ranked among the top 700 athletes worldwide in his age division in the CrossFit Games and has participated in multiple Half Ironman events across California, Washington, and Canada. These experiences have given him firsthand insight into the dedication, setbacks, breakthroughs, and personal growth that athletes experience throughout their journey.

As both a coach and an athlete, Coach Heesacker understands that every player develops differently. His ability to meet athletes where they are, build confidence, and guide them through challenges is central to his coaching approach. He believes that sports provide a unique opportunity to develop not only athletic performance but also resilience, accountability, leadership, and life skills that extend far beyond the field. Coach Heesacker's philosophy is built on six core pillars. Come learn more about these pillars and use them in every situation you're in.
