Meet Coach Alena
Alena Korobko joins Podio Volleyball Club as the Sports Psychology and Mental Performance Coach, bringing a fresh and holistic approach to athlete development. A Seattle native and Lakeside High School alum, Alena earned her B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley, where she also competed as a Division I beach volleyball player.
Throughout her playing career, Alena earned WIAA 3A All-State First Team honors, received Best Blocker recognition, and competed in USA Volleyball High Performance programs, where she trained among top youth athletes from across the country. During that time, she had the incredible opportunity to learn from great coaches and Olympians, deepening her understanding of the mental side of volleyball and the power of mindset in performance.
Born in Russia to a Russian-Ukrainian family and having lived in Japan, Spain, and the U.S., Alena brings a global and culturally aware perspective to her coaching. Along with her role at Podio, she is currently an assistant coach at Lakeside High School, where her passion for mentorship and athlete growth continues to thrive.
Alena is dedicated to helping players build resilience, confidence, and mental toughness while developing into well-rounded athletes on and off the court. Outside of volleyball, she enjoys traveling, experiencing new things, and music.
