Meet Coach Kailyn
Hi, my name is Kailyn! I’m a junior at Newport High School, where I play varsity volleyball as a setter. I started playing volleyball when I was around 11 years old, and I have now been playing club volleyball for four years. Over the years, volleyball has become a huge part of my life, and I’ve had the opportunity to learn from some great coaches, compete at a high level, and play with teammates who have helped me grow both on and off the court.
As a setter, I’ve developed a strong understanding of the game and the importance of leadership and communication. I love being in a position where I can help organize the court, make quick decisions, and bring out the best in my teammates. Being a setter has taught me how important it is to stay positive, communicate clearly, and help my teammates feel confident, especially when things get tough during a game.
One of the things I enjoy most about volleyball is helping younger players. I’ve always enjoyed working with young athletes and sharing what I’ve learned through my own experiences in club and high school volleyball. I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned over the past four years and bring that experience into coaching. I want my players to not only become better volleyball players, but also become more confident, supportive, and positive teammates on and off the court.
Outside of volleyball, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and being involved at school. I’m interested in studying psychology in college, especially with a focus on child psychology. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with younger athletes and learn more about coaching along the way.
I’m really excited to start this next chapter of my volleyball journey as a coach with Podio Sports and give back to the sport that has taught me so much!
